Social and Fundraising Committee

There is a newly formed committee which is addressing fundraising through social activities and looks to encourage and support the many social and fundraising initiatives at St. Peter’s, and to develop new ones. Liz Baldwin has kindly offered to chair the group. We are looking not just for additional members outside the PCC, but for ideas and suggestions. Perhaps you have come across a good idea at work or in another organisation? Perhaps you would like to join us or are able to assist at a function?   Do get in touch!



Wedding Fair

The Social and Fundraising Committee is planning a Wedding Fair with a difference for the weekend of 16^th-17^th June. A display of wedding dresses and related memorabilia will be set up in church. Entrance will be £1, and refreshments will be available.

Please would you consider loaning your wedding dress and/or related items? Perhaps there is a story attached which you would be happy to share! Do contact Liz Baldwin, Derek Wardleworth, Janet Haworth or Kathleen Sowerbutts for more information.

The display will be set up on Friday evening, be open from 11-5 on Saturday, and from 1pm on Sunday, and finish with a service to celebrate marriage and family life at 6.30pm.

CHRISTMAS RAFFLE 2011

Maundy Relief/Maundy Grange

Thank you to everyone who supported the Raffle this year. Proceeds have been donated to a local charity providing much needed support in the Accrington area.

Maundy Relief provides an immediate response to poverty and need in the local community. This includes the Maundy Grange Drop-In Centre which provides a warm and supportive environment and offers assistance with: Food, Clothing, Counselling, Benefits and Money, Furniture and Household Goods, Housing Advice, Life Skills, Support and Advice for Drug and Alcohol related problems.

I am sure you will agree this is a most worthy cause.
